CORD’s Blogger Dikembe Disembe Welcomes The Alleged Government #36 Bloggers As KOT Reacts To The News

Over the weekend news came in that the government had hired 36 online bloggers to advance its agenda online and curb the onslaught it had been having both from pro Opposition bloggers and non-affiliated bloggers.

The alleged move which comes at a time when the government has been on the receiving end of several trending campaigns has attracted harsh criticism. However, not all are angry at this step, seeing it only as a long overdue recognition of the power of social media platform by the political class. The pro cord blogger Dikembe Disembe welcomed the moved albeit sarcastically noting that;

“As early as 2013, Itumbi was working on a way the government would recognize bloggers and hackers in its digital operations.

That this has materialised is such a positive step. What the government does with its bloggers is a different story.People always think it is easy to blog. To market a particular point of view.

In CORD, I have often heard how certain well-placed factotums dismiss the few volunteer bloggers doing their little bit to keep its narrative alive. I hope the revelation that the government has employed both self-taught geeks and real graduates in IT, Journalism, Political Science, Law, Marketing and other other disciplines to be in charge of its online ‘image’ will be a wake up call.

President Uhuru doesn’t deserve many things but one thing even those of us who jeer his policies daily are grateful of is his digitizing presidential politics.

I only hope this new team will ‘up’ Jubilee issues online from the pettiness suspected rapists like Mugo plunged them into. I urge them to peddle whatever it is they will peddle, but do so in such a way that they leave our intelligence in one piece, not shattered into pieces with silliness, insults and endless name calling!
Welcome on board compatriots. We are one!”

Not all have been as understanding or accommodating especially in light that the said bloggers would be paid tax money. The reaction ranges from disgust to name shaming suspected bloggers and the hilarious. Here are some;
