DO WE SMELL A SAUTI SOL COLLABORATION HERE?

There is definitely no secret that Sauti Sol were darlings of the American media as they took the 2012 SXSW festival in Austin Texas by storm. In the entertainment industry, if you cause such a splash, there has to be someone who takes notice and we’re definitely looking out for any news that pops up.

In Austin, Kenya’s leading boy band performed at various venues through out the over a week long festival, including a spinlet all Africa showcase at the Copa club in the city’s downtown area. Of course they did their thing alongside the other continental greats, including other Kenyan representatives Just a Band and South Africa’s Spoek Mathambo.

Now for those of you who do not know much about Spoek, he’s arguably one of the leading electro rappers not just in South Africa but on the continent. It was interesting to see a display of African groups that were daring to be different in their lyrical delivery.

Now there’s delightful news that Sauti Sol and Mathambo might be teaming up for some kind of collaboration. The reports are still vague but we have reason to believe that there’s something concrete brewing there.
