DOES TUSKER PROJECT FAME REALLY CREATE STARS?
Tusker Project Fame, East Africa’s premier reality tv show is back for it’s 5th spin. The show is arguably East Africa’s most glitzy homegrown show that seeks to create stars out of those among us talented enough to hold a note.
It started as a Kenyan affair and has grown in leaps and bounds, now having representatives from 6 Eastern African nations namely: Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania… but the phantom that haunts this opera is the question on everyone’s lips; DOES TPF REALLY CREATE STARS?
The show has churned out some memorable talents such as Alpha, Wendy Kimani and the controversial nightingale Valerie Kimani. There have also been some not so talented acts such as Hemedi whom we remember for his diva tendencies more than for his talent but the query on these “stars” shelf life just won’t go away.
There have been people who took advantage of the star power garnered from appearing on TPF such as Cedric and Ng’ang’alito who went on to create a ripple in the entertainment seen but even that was short lived.
Maybe the organizers of TPF should organize classes that teach these celeblings how to take advantage of the buzz the show generates for them so they can really blow! Did i hear someone say Supernova?
