Emmy Kosgei to Perform in London

After making Kenya proud at the African Gospel Music Awards in London last weekend, Emmy Kosgei will perform at the Wycliffe Baptiste Church in Reading this Thursday. Entry to the event will be charged at £10. At the event, the artiste’s CDs and DVDs will also be sold.

Despite singing in vernacular, Emmy Kosgei has managed to traverse language barriers and make music that appeals to everyone, not only in Kenya, but Africa. With the London performance, maybe even internationally. Her song, Ololo, was named Song of the Year at AGMA where she also won Female Artiste of the Year.

Emmy Kosgei traveled to London with her team as she was the only artiste from Kenya who had been invited to perform at the awards which were held at the Hippodrome. Two other Kenyans won continental awards: radio presenter Anthony Ndiema and producer Billy Frank. Besides being one of the most in-demand artistes in Kenya, she runs a fashion house where she is a designer.
