Fashion: Mr And Miss Kiambu Institute Of Science And Technology! (photos)
I was invited a fortnight ago to be a judge for Mr&Miss Kist University. I was judging alongside Linda Gatere, a professional model and Susan, a lecturer at Unity college. The event started an hour later than intended, partly due to the weather and probably planning, but when it did, we were all served to a fete like something we hadn’t witnessed before. As a judge, I was particularly impressed by the level of creativity displayed by the ,models. I should have posted this earlier but you know, commitments.

from right: Malik, a model and Choreographer, Susan, A lecturer at Unity beauty College, Tonny a journalist at Ghafla, and Linda Gatere, a Proffesional model.
The event was geared at discovering talent in modelling in terms of creativity and presentation, with the theme ;being Modelling for self reliance with the bench mark being the vision 2030.
This is how it turned out.

My favorite part was the official wear which all judges felt was interpreted correctly. There is however one thing that we have identified in most modelling events, when it comes to official wear, models technically represented one type of career. The office guy, and the office guy as opposed to representing different careers.

Queen Ngina exuded alot of confidence on the runway which saw her bag the top prize at the end of the day, all the judges agreed that she was most creative in the way she brought out the theme.

Queen Ngina wearing an outfit that she had fashioned out of scouring wool, the outfit carried the day, the interpretation was food for a healthier nation, clean food free of contaminants which would see our country grow in leaps and bounds.

The colorful event ended with the crowning of Mr and Miss KIST Ken Gaithuma and Queen Ngina
