Celebrated Kenyan actor Charles ‘Charlie’ Ouda’s mother, Yunia, has shared a heartfelt tribute to her departed son as they prepare for his cremation on February 15, 2024.

In a poignant eulogy, Mama Charlie expressed her emotions through a letter to her beloved son, reminiscing about the good and challenging times they shared:

“A LETTER FROM CHARLI’S MUM

Dear Charlie,

I often say that God’s decisions are above ours, but it’s still hard to believe that He has taken you away from me, ‘Baba.’ I am so proud to have watched you grow into a great, lively, lovable man.

I am grateful for all the memories—being my long-time barber, random calls when you were at work, ‘Mum, are you okay?’ ‘Mum, what do you want me to buy for you?’ I will dearly miss your spicy chickens that you made for me.

No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you, Charlie.

Charlie, rest well. I love you so much, and you will always be in my heart.

Actor Charles Ouda passed away on the night of February 3, 2024, at the age of 38. On February 14, 2024, a night vigil was held at the Kenya National Theatre in honor of the late Charles Ouda.
