Forget Camp Mulla, Here Are The True Kings Of YouTube

Right now everyone’s going crazy about Camp Mulla’s hot new video ‘Hold It Down‘ and sharing their video like crazy on social networks. This might lead some of us to think that they’re the hottest Kenyan artists on YouTube, but this is not true. There are other artists whose videos do orders of magnitude better than Camp Mulla videos, and what’s more, you might not even have heard of some of them! Here are the three kings of youtube.co.ke :

1. Ben Githae

For a Ben Githae video to clock 200, 000 views on YouTube, it’s normal. For example, his hit song, ‘Irathimo Ciakwa’ has about 300,000 views so far:

Think that’s a fluke? His other videos, ‘Mabataro‘ and ‘Ngai Munyenderi‘ also acheived similar heights.

2. Ruth Wamuyu

You might have heard her song ‘Amukira Ngatho’ playing in the club:

That video hit 210 k views, easy. She rinsed and repeated the feat with ‘Wi Muthaka‘ (400,000 views) and ‘Murui Mbara‘ (100, 000 views).

3. Rose Muhando

You say a Rose Muhando video has 100, 000 views? Yawn.

200, 000 views? Yawn, again.

300, 000 views? Guess again.

Her 7 minute long hit ‘Yesu Nakupenda’ clocked 1.1 million views, quick as a wink! Wondering what the magic was behind that? See for yourself:

Her other hits routinely do more than 300,000 views and they’re so many, I can’t go through the trouble of listing them, you just have to see for yourself  by clicking here.
