Former KTN Screen Siren Responds To Njoki Chege’s ‘Fat-Shaming’ Article on Saturday Nation

She may be a little late to the #someonetellNjokiChege party but as they say, better late than ever right?

Kendi Ashitiva a former TV host on KTN took to social media to address the Njoki Chege menace of ‘fat-shaming’.

This is what she wrote:

I have been asked by a few of my friends to respond to the article by Njoki Chege, yeah the one talking about “fat women”, well I wasn’t going to until I realized that you know what according to her I am also “FAT”!

First things first, who decides who is beautiful and who is not. Did you know there are no ugly people. Beauty changes from one society to the other, truthfully you didn’t know what is beautiful and what is not, SOMEONE ELSE TOLD YOU. For very long I questioned my own looks, because I compared myself to other people that I thought were beautiful until I realized that those people I thought were stunning were also concerned about their own looks and were just as insecure if not worse.

Everything you say, do or think, has been given to you by someone else it only depends who gave it to you. We read, see, hear then internalize the content after which we churn it back out using our own rhythm and we think it’s our own…NOPE!!. As a society we consume a lot of western content which automatically comes with those values. The western woman is expected to be slender a complete size zero, a thigh gap for those who know a thigh gap is highly coveted. A nice well rounded ass just came up after kim Kardashian who by the way is originally Armenian.

Secondly where is the research? Where is the scientific study to prove that most Kenyan men want a slender woman? Now Njoki I used to see you in Daystar in the Library, never in the canteen of course that’s for “fat” people like me, I assumed you actually used to read. You know about a scientific research and how to come up with a hypothesis, as well as a research group? Show me the statistics girl, how many men in a well-represented study said they cheat on their wives because of their looks? Tell me? How many of those men, said they find their wives utterly disgusting because they are chubby? You would be shocked my darling? I have seen slender bridesmaids standing behind chubby brides at weddings. There is more to a woman than the circumference of her waistline. Yes I agree we should live healthy and pursue a healthy lifestyle, but show me your records? Show me your lifestyle?

The other day you picked on Pastor Allan and Cathy Kiuna, and I couldn’t help but ask how long you have been married? If you were married for only a day, you would SHUT YOUR MOUTH!! Marriage can be tough, really tough, it takes a lot for two strangers to make it work!!! I pray you marry into the perfect family with no “FAT” in laws……

So to every girl, woman out there who felt offended smile honey there is nothing wrong with you. Your value and net worth is not in your looks, its in the one who created you, we are not called to let ourselves go (kujiwachilia) neither are we called to idolize a particular image of ourselves. Proverbs 31 speaks of the virtuous woman, with no mention of her looks, but you see her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband’s heart trusts in her and he is respected in the gates. You want to be an attractive woman, clothe yourself with both inward and outward beauty, have a gentle and a quiet spirit, speak at the time to come, be kind to the needy, respect the man in your life, dress modestly and attractively and if you are married like me……give your husband mind blowing sex, yes even if you are “FAT”!!!!! (It is your christian joyful duty)

Yeah I said it………Have a great day people
