He took questions from assembled pressmen on all sorts of issues.<\/p>\n<p>Prez Akuffo-Addo sought to calm speculations about his interest in legalizing homosexuality in Ghana. He said that wasn&#8217;t on his agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Akufo-Addo caused a firestorm. This happened after his with Al-Jazeera. It was the interview that stated that legalization of homosexuality was \u2018bound to happen\u2019 in Ghana. He sought to clarify his position at the event.<\/p>\n<h4>Statement From Prez Akuffo-Addo<\/h4>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI\u2019m not involved in any conspiracy to promote homosexuality.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He said that homos*xuality was anathema to Ghanaian culture. Therefore, he was not going to legalize it during his tenure.<\/p>\n<p>However, the issue of LGBT rights continues to dominate discussion in the Ghanaian sphere. This is primarily due to the President\u2019s comments. Also, the Human Rights Watch recently released a documentary.
