{"id":11052,"date":"2018-01-19T11:16:37","date_gmt":"2018-01-19T11:16:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/gh\/?p=11052"},"modified":"2018-01-19T11:16:37","modified_gmt":"2018-01-19T11:16:37","slug":"11052-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/11052-2\/","title":{"rendered":"MUSIGA To Announce Standard Wages For Artistes In Coming Days &#8211; Obour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President of the Musician Union of Ghana(MUSIGA), Obour has revealed that the Union in the coming days will announce standard charges for musicians in the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the charges will be based on the &#8216;Class&#8217; or Grade&#8217; of the artistes.<\/p>\n<h3>Obour Speaks<\/h3>\n<p>He said, \u201cWe will have A-list artistes, B-list artistes, C-list artistes and MUSIGA is going to propose standard minimum wages that these artistes must be paid when you engage them for their services\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He added that \u201cWe will mention the rates\u2026what we will prescribe is not what the people will be charging but the minimum. It is one of the core mandates of MUSIGA just like the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) have their standards for lawyers. The lawyer works for one hour and there is an amount the lawyer must charge\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Obour further stated that if musicians fail to comply with these new standards, \u201cthey will be \u2018spoiling\u2019 their own markets\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Musicians Union of Ghana is an umbrella group that unites all musicians in Ghana irrespective of their music genre.<\/p>\n<p>Obour, born Bice Osei Kuffour is the current president of the association.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President of the Musician Union of Ghana(MUSIGA), Obour has revealed that the Union in the coming days will announce standard charges for musicians in the country.
