\u201cWe received one million first and part of it was commissioned to study the music sector. The study was done by KPMG. It was comprehensive study of the music sector,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The research which was aimed at providing a baseline data on the music industry, explaining the structure and functioning of Ghana\u2019s music industry and making recommendations to stakeholders and government on the way forward with the industry, concluded that the sector adds approximately GH\u00a293 million to the GDP of Ghana, representing 0.13% of the 2012 GDP at current prices.<\/p>\n
He also stated that another GH\u00a2 800, 000 of the money was also spent on the first edition of the Ghana music festival.<\/p>\n
However, he debunked claims by various sectors of the public that he had misappropriated the money and even used it for personal gains. Also, he did not make it clear what the remainder of the money was used for. He has however come to claim that the music union has improved tremendously under his leadership.<\/p>\n
