AMG rapper, Medikal has finally opened up on not winning any award at the 2017 VGMA. This was after he got seven nominations. he was given seven nominations in the 2017 VGMA.<\/p>\n
Moreover, Medikal was tipped to win many awards, especially \u2018New Artiste of the Year\u2019. However, to the surprise of many, he did not win even one of the seven categories he was nominated for.<\/p>\n
He recounted the experience on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, he said Shatta Wale urged him to remain strong because winning awards never justifies an artiste but talent.<\/p>\n
Moreover, he said he has learnt a great lesson. Therefore, he is working hard to put his career on a higher pedestal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt devastated but I understood that. I recorded like 100 songs and only a few made me. But the awards don\u2019t make you who you are. Shatta is my good friend and he hasn\u2019t got that awards but he is going up. I am an entertainer so I won\u2019t let those things bring me down.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Furthermore, Medikal indicated that negative critics don\u2019t get to him. Rather, they rather power him to excel in the music industry.<\/p>\n
Moreover, he was asked if he expects to win an award this year. He replied,<\/p>\n
\u2018I don\u2019t even know if my team filed for it. It\u2019s not anything I know. I have a lot of information occupying my mind. I am a member of MUSIGA but don\u2019t know about GHAMRO.<\/em><\/p>\n
