{"id":182,"date":"2017-09-08T17:06:39","date_gmt":"2017-09-08T17:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/gh\/?p=182"},"modified":"2017-09-08T17:08:41","modified_gmt":"2017-09-08T17:08:41","slug":"drivers-threaten-sit-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/drivers-threaten-sit-strike\/","title":{"rendered":"Drivers threaten sit-down strike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Wisdom Drivers Association have threatened to embark on a strike action against the government if fuel prices are not reduced immediately.<\/p>\n<p>According to the drivers, the government increased fuel prices several times during the month of August but they were not allowed to increase transport fares.<\/p>\n<p>This situation, they claim, has plunged them into hardship, for which they are asking the government to reduce the prices of fuel or face their wrath.<\/p>\n<p>Yaw Barima told Accra 100.5 FM\u2019s Chief Jerry Forson on Friday, 8th September that: \u201cThere has been a 17.5 per cent increment in fuel prices but we have not been allowed to increase our fares.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is worrying and so we are asking President to reduce the fuel prices.
