Furthermore, some of the dignitaries included British High Commissioner to Ghana, Iain Walker; and Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Charles Owiredu. Also, Head of the Commonwealth Office for the Africa region, John Apea.<\/p>\n
Other high-profile guests who attended the event were Sam Okudzeto, Member of the Council of State; Justice VCRAC Crabbe, former Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana; Andrew Barnes, Australia High Commissioner to Ghana, Rev. Sam Korankye-Ankrah who is the Vice-President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Christian Council; Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, former Minister of Education in Ghana, and Mina Mensah Head of the Africa Office of the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative were in attendance.<\/p>\n
The British council auditorium was filled to capacity with guests and students. Moreover, some of the guests got\u00a0 certificates in recognition of excellence in the Queen\u2019s Commonwealth Essay Competition Essay competition.<\/p>\n
Also, students from the Ghana International School simulated a very engaging Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. The resolution of the simulation was banning the use of plastics.<\/p>\n
This year, the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting is in London. It is under the theme \u2018Toward a Common Future<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n Therefore, 53 independent Heads of Government will meet to address key global challenges.
