Contemporary highlife musician Dada K.D says he has always thought Nigerian super star, Davido was a Ghanaian artiste.<\/p>\n
According to Dada K.D, since his return from Germany, he has always heard a lot about the ‘Aye’ hitmaker. However, all this while, he thought he was a was a Ghanaian born art.<\/p>\n
Dada K.D was speaking in an interview with Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment, Kasapa 102.5FM. He went on to query why Davido’s songs have taken over the Ghanaian airwaves if he’s not a Ghanaian.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn my residence at Kumasi I have been hearing a lot of songs being played which are Davido\u2019s own.<\/em> I was thinking Davido was a new artist who resides in Ghana because of the rate at which his songs were being played over and over again just to realise he is a Nigerian art. So then how could we play his songs so massively in Ghana like that?\u201d He queried.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
He however urged DJ\u2019s and music promoters to play more of Ghanaian songs in order to promote ourselves. Dada K.D also added that this will also enable the youth to appreciate and love their own.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we could promote other people\u2019s songs in Ghana, then why can\u2019t we do same and even more for our very own. Its time we sit up and love our very own because if we don\u2019t no one will do it for us\u201d.<\/em> He told Kojo Preko Dankwa.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Short Bio On Dada K.D<\/h3>\n
Born Dada Kwaku Duah, he is one musician known for his love songs.<\/p>\n
After releasing his second and third albums, Adi Nye Wop and Eden na megyee, Dada K.D traveled abroad in 1998 when he realized the music industry in the country was not that rewarding. There was no help nor incentives for those in the industry.<\/p>\n
His journey outside has been a fruitful one as he now has more than seven albums to his credit. nine albums and currently has a total of eight albums to his credit.<\/p>\n
Other albums to his credit, apart from the first three are; “Ebeboawo,” “Obiara Se Eye”, “Ode twe boom \/ ny goes boom boom,”\u00a0 “Somgye” and mewura \/ Odom u anigyebi.”<\/p>\n
He was adjudged Best Male Vocal Artist (Ghana Music Awards) in Britain in 2004 by Ghanaians resident in Britain.<\/p>\n
Dada K.D has played with bands like RELALTIVES in Germany, with Kojo Antwi\u2019s Band, Tropical Vibes (Accra) and also with Amakye Dede\u2019s Band.<\/p>\n
