Ghanaian Afro pop singer-songwriter,\u00a0Noella Wiyaala’s international all-female group, GRRRRL have released their debut single dubbed ‘Woyale.’<\/span><\/p>\n

The track is however plucked from their forthcoming debut EP which is released on June 1st.<\/p>\n

It meshes the distinctive sounds of Afrobeat and Latin rhythms with UK rap and global club culture.<\/p>\n

\u2018Woyale\u2019 is the ideal single to introduce you to the diverse sounds of GRRRL.<\/p>\n

GRRRL was formed in August 2017. It was however, brought together by In Place Of War (IPOW).<\/p>\n

IPOW is an organisation that works with and supports creative communities in some of the most war-torn areas in the world, in order to help make positive change.<\/p>\n

GRRRL, however, consists of eight influential female musicians from across the globe.<\/p>\n

It fuses sounds of dark techno, ghetto bass, hip hop, dancehall, reggae, soul and electronica.<\/p>\n

The director\u00a0for this music project is Brazil\u2019s Laima Leyton (Mixhell\/Soulwax).<\/p>\n

Its accompanying visuals, filmed on the cliff top at Mosman -Australia, were however directed by Adam Singer.<\/p>\n

GRRRL is an ambitious, imaginative, and consciously revolutionary project, which started around a year ago. It began when seven musicians met in London. This was after four months of long-distance artistic relationships and creative exchanges. These women come from\u00a0the UK, West and South Africa, Brazil and South Asia.<\/p>\n

AWA \u2013 African Women Arise\u200b Zimbabwe\u2019s Rap Queen.<\/p>\n

Lei Di Dai -\u200b Queen of Brazilian Dancehall.<\/p>\n

Wiyaala\u200b \u2013 The Ghanaian Lioness of Africa.<\/p>\n

Nono Nkoane\u200b \u2013 Original Nu-Jazz and folk singer from Cape Town.<\/p>\n

Afrodeutsche\u200b \u2013 Electronic artist and synth player from UK\/Ghana.<\/p>\n

Sohini Alam\u200b \u2013 British Bangladeshi singer.<\/p>\n

MABE\u200b \u2013 DJ and percussionist from Caracas, Venezuela.<\/p>\n
