Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Akwaboah Jnr. has revealed that Highlife musician, Kwabena Kwabena should have been on Sarkodie’s ‘Mary’ album.<\/p>\n
But according to the ‘Mesan Agye Wo’ crooner, the ‘Asor’ hitmaker couldn’t avail himself for the recording session.<\/p>\n
Multiple awards-winning rapper, Sarkodie, born Micheal Owusu Addo released his ‘Mary’ album in 2015.<\/p>\n
The album featured some of the great musicians in the country including; Pat Thomas, Efya, Obrafuor, Mugeez, Chase among others.<\/p>\n
Akwaboah, who wrote\u00a0about 90% of songs on the album says, the ace Highlife musician, Kwabena Kwabena should have featured on it.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Kojo Akoto Boateng on Citi TV\u2019s \u2018Saturday Live\u2019 show Akwaboah stated that he wrote the song with Kwabena Kwabena in mind.<\/p>\n
However, since he couldn’t avail himself, he had to sing his part himself.<\/p>\n
According to him, several attempts to get the \u2018Siwagedem\u2019 singer to feature on that song proved abortive.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cActually, I wanted Kwabena Kwabena to do this song. I wrote this song for him. I called him several times but he did not mind me,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Akwaboah explained that he wanted variety on the Mary album so he brought on board different artistes to perform the songs he wrote for sarkodie.<\/p>\n
The album has songs like \u2018Wanna Be Loved\u2019 ft. Efya, \u2018Giant Steps\u2019 ft. Chase, \u2018Mewu\u2019 ft. Akwaboah, \u2018Always On My Mind\u2019 ft. Obrafour, \u2018Bra\u2019 ft. Pat Thomas and \u2018All Is You\u2019 ft. Mugeez.<\/p>\n
Others are \u2018End Up Falling\u2019 ft. Akwaboah, \u2018Edwam Tesen,\u2019 \u2018Mary\u2019 and \u2018Sarkcess Story\u2019 ft Efya.<\/p>\n
Akwaboah, born\u00a0Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr., is\u00a0a prolific songwriter and producer.<\/p>\n
He has written songs for the likes of\u00a0Efya, Kofi Sarpong, Becca, among others.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Akwaboah is currently promoting his new album dubbed, \u2018Matters of the Heart\u2019.<\/p>\n
