The 2018 edition of the annual\u00a0CHALE WOTE festival will take place between August 20- 26, 2018.<\/p>\n
Organizers are expecting this year’s event to bring together people from all walks of life who appreciate artists and their art.<\/p>\n
Over the last seven years, the festival has propelled the development of independent creative artists and the arts economy in Accra.<\/p>\n
The CHALE WOTE Street Art Festival is an alternative platform that brings art, music, dance and performance out into the streets.<\/p>\n
It gives artists the platform to showcase their paintings, sculptures,<\/p>\n
photographs, films, fashion, mixed media, comedy, culinary arts, music, and dance.<\/p>\n
CHALE WOTE literally translated to ‘Friend lets go’ in the Ghanaian language Ga. It also means flip-flops in Ghana.<\/p>\n
The festival is organised by ACCRA [dot] ALT and REDD KAT Pictures.<\/p>\n
