Ghanaian gospel singer, Lady Prempeh collaborated with rapper Asem about 10 years ago. Moreover, she received several criticisms for that collaboration. However, she believes it was a blessing to her music career.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, she recounted how fellow gospel artistes attacked and ridiculed her for the collaboration.<\/p>\n
That notwithstanding, she says the feature inreased her fanbase.<\/p>\n
\u201cAsem was very popular then, and I believed doing collaboration with him at that time would bring gospel music to a wider youth audience. The song became very popular, but I had a lot of back lash from people who I thought would support me. Despite that, I carried on promoting and gained more fans.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Furthermore, she stated that if one has a good heart and mind towards what they do, they would succeed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you are a musician you should be able to do any sort of music. Since I took that step many years ago I have noticed that a lot of artistes both gospel and circular like the missing Castro, Sarkodie, Nacee, Herty Borngreat, Nero X and others are also doing similar things.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cI know I wasn\u2019t the first musicians to have done a song with a secular artiste but I faced a lot of pressure and had to overcome a lot at the time I took that step.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
