He presented his letter of intent at the party headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the NDC\u2019s primary season approaches. Therefore, many names have started declaring their intentions to run for the flagbearership role of the party.<\/p>\n<p>The big question has always been about whether former President Mahama, who was in power from 2012 till 2016, would run for the office once again.<\/p>\n<p>The party is divided over whether he should run again. A portion believes they need him to win whilst another portion largely blame him for the 2016 defeat.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, with his official declaration it would now be up to the party delegates to make their choice but as a former President Mahama remains the frontrunner.<\/p>\n<p>Mahama\u2019s main rivals for the December 2018 vote includes Ekow Spio Garbrah, Alban Bagbin and Joshua Alabi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Mahama states his intentions.
