Board Chairperson of the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), Juliet Asante talks about the Ghana film industry.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, according to her, the industry is not making any significant progress due to many setbacks regarding policies.<\/p>\n
According to the filmmaker, stakeholders are trying in their own capacity to make reforms.<\/p>\n
She made these statements to Mikki Osei Berko on the \u2018After Hours\u2019 Show on Tv3. She stated that it will take time for the film industry to recuperate.<\/p>\n
However, the producer agreed that in recent months, she has seen a grand swell concerning the industry. This is because civil society and the policymaker recognize how significant of the film sector.<\/p>\n
According to her, years back policymakers and civil society always sat behind to be spectators. Therefore, she is enthused with their activeness in the Film industry now.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithin the last couple of months, I can see a grand swell in the industry. A grand swell not just from industry but also from civil society because they are beginning to recognize more. It\u2019s interesting how first civil society will take the back seat and watch stakeholders do their own thing. I think policymakers are also beginning to realize the impact and importance of the sector.<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve come from a place where we\u2019ve gone so deep into a hole and that it will take time for us to come out of it. I don\u2019t think anyone has doubt that we\u2019ve gone into a hole.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
