{"id":52614,"date":"2018-09-04T10:11:55","date_gmt":"2018-09-04T10:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/gh\/?p=52614"},"modified":"2018-09-03T23:22:48","modified_gmt":"2018-09-03T23:22:48","slug":"4444-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/4444-9\/","title":{"rendered":"Okyeame Kwame Appointed Reading Ambassador By\u00a0Canadian Government"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Awards-winning Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame has been appointed by the Canadian<\/p>\n<p>government as a Reading Ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian government through the Canadian Organisation for Development through Education (CODE),<\/p>\n<p>a Canadian Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO),<\/p>\n<p>in partnership with Ghana Book Trust has made the \u2018Rap Dacta\u2019 a reading ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>gotten another social responsibility as a Reading Ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of his appointment is to use his hulking great influence to drive their new<\/p>\n<p>campaign dubbed \u2018Read With Me.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>This however, adds up to the numerous social responsibilities of the &#8216;Small Small&#8217; crroner.<\/p>\n<p>Ghanaian musician Kwame Nsiah-Apau known in showbiz as Okyeame Kwame has gotten another social responsibility appointment.<\/p>\n<p>ALSO READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/lets-wear-african-prints-daily-okyeame-kwame\/\">https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/lets-wear-african-prints-daily-okyeame-kwame\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The campaign has become necessary because research has shown that when parents read<\/p>\n<p>with their children their interest in reading is activated more than when the parents<\/p>\n<p>\u2018scream at them to read unattended.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The director of Ghana Book Trust, Mrs. Genevieve Eba-Polley, in her submission,<\/p>\n<p>mentioned that Okyeame Kwame was chosen because of his exemplary life<\/p>\n<p>as a father and as a human being in general.<\/p>\n<p>She also mentioned Okyeame\u2019s his impeccable brand positioning as a motivation for the project.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian government was represented by Corey Huntington.<\/p>\n<p>In his acceptance speech, Okyeame recounted how difficult it was to read even at age 10<\/p>\n<p>because his parents didn\u2019t read with him and he lacked interest in reading due to that.<\/p>\n<p>In that wise, he appreciated the appointment and promised to let his influence manifest in the cause.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Awards-winning Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame has been appointed by the Canadian government as a Reading Ambassador.
