Rapper and former member of music group VIP(now VVIP), Promzy, has\u00a0unfortunately lost his mother.<\/p>\n

The musician took to social media to announce the sad demise of his beloved mother on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust lost my mum. Even though it\u2019s a painful state now, I\u2019m trying to cope and be strong. God knows best. Have a wonderful week kings and queens,\u201d he said on Facebook.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you find your path, you must not be afraid. You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes. Disappointment, defeat and despair are the tools God uses to show us the way,\u201d<\/em> he further said in an additional image to the post.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There is no detail about the cause of death. Again, there is no further detail about who she was but Promzy has, in the past, reportedly made posts about her on Facebook emphasizing a strong bond between them.<\/p>\n

Promzy was a member of VIP, one of the first music groups which emerged during the early stages of hiplife.<\/p>\n

They produced some of the massive hits the country has ever had. In 1998, they released their first album, \u2018Bibi Baa O\u2019.<\/p>\n

In 2000, they released their second album, \u2018Ye De Aba\u2019, which was more successful than their first album. Their third album, \u2018Lumbe Lumbe Lumbe\u2019, in 2001 had the smash hit song, \u2018Daben Na Odo Beba\u2019.<\/p>\n

In 2003, VIP took the music industry by storm with their album, \u2018Ahomka Womu\u2019. The \u2018Ahomka Womu\u2019 song was number one on the Ghanaian charts for over 20 weeks.<\/p>\n

VIP won several awards at the Ghana Music Awards and the group gained international exposure after this success.<\/p>\n

In 2013, the group announced that Promzy was no longer a member, but they didn\u2019t really state what led to their split-up.<\/p>\n

His exit from the group saw a new addition in the person of Reggie Rockstone who also changed the group’s name to VVIP.<\/p>\n
