{"id":53453,"date":"2018-09-20T08:10:16","date_gmt":"2018-09-20T08:10:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/gh\/?p=53453"},"modified":"2018-09-20T01:53:40","modified_gmt":"2018-09-20T01:53:40","slug":"6156-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/6156-8\/","title":{"rendered":"Fuel Prices Have Exposed The Incompetency Of The NPP \u2013 A Plus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Controversial on-air personality, Kwame Asare Obeng aka A-Plus has taken a swipe at the ruling\u00a0New Patriotic Party (NPP) about recent rise in fule prices.<\/p>\n<p>According to the musician, the rise in fuel prices recently have exposed the incompetence of the\u00a0 Nana Addo led NPP.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday September 18, some fuel stations across the nation increased their prices to over GH\u00a25 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>A litre of diesel and petrol is now selling at GH\u00a25 18 pesewas; and GH\u00a25 14 pesewas, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Background<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the 2016 elections, Nana Akufo Addo who was then the Presidential candidate for NPP<\/p>\n<p>described the decision by then NDC government to increase the prices of petroleum products, in the midst of the ongoing, crippling energy crisis, as insensitive.<\/p>\n<p>READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/9800-12\/\">https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/9800-12\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He said at a time when Ghanaians are reeling under the effects of three years of \u2018dumsor\u2019 and<\/p>\n<p>resorting to the use of generators to produce power the last thing a government will do is to<\/p>\n<p>increase fuel prices.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Addo further stated that such development meant there was no end to the difficulties of the ordinary Ghanaian.<\/p>\n<p>Meanhwile, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during the rendering of account<\/p>\n<p>to Ghanains after the first 100 days in office of the NPP government in his speech indicated<\/p>\n<p>that\u00a0the government has been able to \u2018arrest\u2019 the fall of the cedi as well as made some 103 achievements.<\/p>\n<p>He said the free fall of the cedi has been arrested, and the keys given to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for safekeeping.<\/p>\n<p>Considering all that and the current increase in fuel prices A Plus believes that the increment<\/p>\n<p>has exposed the incompetency of the ruling NPP government.<\/p>\n<p>A plus, in a Facebook post said petroleum prices will expose the government when the cedi breaks jail.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3><em>\u201cWhen the arrested cedi breaks jail, petroleum prices will expose you!!!
