The legal brouhaha between television host, Afia Schwarzenegger, and her ex-husband takes another twist. This is because the prosecution presented a new witness in the case. However, the court originally closed the case.<\/p>\n
Moreover, an Accra Circuit Court closed the prosecution\u2019s case. This is because they struggled to find their next witness to testify in the trial.<\/p>\n
However, things took a different twist when the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Maxwell Oppong, presented one Detective Sergeant Simon Amegatse to testify on behalf of the substantive investigator, Sergeant Owusu Boateng.<\/p>\n
Owusu Boateng who handled the case, the court heard, has been admitted at the hospital and is said to be in critical health condition and cannot even talk.<\/p>\n
Detective Sergeant Simon Amegatse\u2019s testimony was close to nothing. This is because he virtually tendered in a medical report and investigation caution statements and other statements taken from Abrokwa.<\/p>\n
Also, he told the court that he knew Afia Schwarzenegger\u2019s ex-husband to be the complainant.<\/p>\n
However, he realised that he is now the accused person in the matter.<\/p>\n
Chief Inspector Oppong then informed the court that the prosecution would like close their case at that point.<\/p>\n
During cross-examination, the defence lawyer, Anthony Namo, pointed out to the police officer that the only thing written in the medical report was what Afia told the doctor.<\/p>\n
But Chief Inspector Oppong intervened. He stated that the witness cannot answer that question as he was not the author of the medical report.<\/p>\n
