{"id":55745,"date":"2018-11-05T09:15:06","date_gmt":"2018-11-05T09:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/gh\/?p=55745"},"modified":"2018-11-04T11:52:36","modified_gmt":"2018-11-04T11:52:36","slug":"ghanaian-musicians-are-not-smart-rudeboy-of-p-square-fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/ghanaian-musicians-are-not-smart-rudeboy-of-p-square-fame\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghanaian Musicians Are Not Smart \u2013 RudeBoy of P-Square Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A video which has since gone viral has caused tongues wagging on social media<\/p>\n<p>about RudeBoy, the other half of Psquare.<\/p>\n<p>The video show RudeBoy, one half of the now-defunct successful Nigerian Pop<\/p>\n<p>Music group P-Square, lambasting Ghanaian musicians.<\/p>\n<p>According to him Ghanaian musicians have are not smart enough when it comes to doing<\/p>\n<p>music, unlike they the Nigerian artistes.<\/p>\n<p>The video shows RudeBoy in the studios of WGHC Radio in Chicago &#8211; USA, as he was<\/p>\n<p>presumably on the promotion of his solo project.<\/p>\n<p>He was asked to share his opinion on the cold reception of two Ghanaian Artistes of the<\/p>\n<p>Year- Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale- by Nigerian music fans, days prior to his interview.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian star did not hold back his assessments of Ghanaian music stars at all.<\/p>\n<p>The multi-talented singer downplayed the popularity and relevance of the Zylofon<\/p>\n<p>Music signees who have won several local and international awards.<\/p>\n<p>Read:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/were-cool-with-e-l-ko-jo-cue-shaker\/\">https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/were-cool-with-e-l-ko-jo-cue-shaker\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In Ghana, reggae\/dancehall rivals Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are considered musical<\/p>\n<p>immortals with their massive fanbase, but according to Rudeboy, they have zero<\/p>\n<p>relevance where he comes from.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian superstar reserved special praise for Sarkodie and called him the best Ghanaian<\/p>\n<p>artiste but said that all the others were experiencing irrelevance outside Ghana because<\/p>\n<p>Ghanaian artistes and music often follow a trend and stagnates with it while Nigerian music<\/p>\n<p>creates a trend, recycles the best from other industries and continues to add value to<\/p>\n<p>newer innovations.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Nigerians we&#8217;re too sharp&#8230;most of the sounds you&#8217;re talking about they come <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>from you guys [Ghanaians], if you&#8217;re not sharp enough Niger we&#8217;re sharper.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThey are just doing the same thing without developing&#8230;they focus on just one <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>thing and stay there.
