Rapper Okyeame Kwame has commented on the road protest staged by Adenta residents.<\/p>\n

According to the rap icon, Ghana’s economy is becoming difficult as a result of economic<\/p>\n

situations across the globe.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the nation is becoming a little hard because of the global economic <\/em><\/p>\n

situation. Britain is in Brexit, Europe is suffering herself so instead of sending <\/em><\/p>\n

their money to Africa, they send it to Greece.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cAmerica is suffering, they have a bad leader. All these things are affecting our<\/em><\/p>\n

economy. So I think the politicians should come up and have a dialogue with the <\/em><\/p>\n

people again,\u201d<\/em> he noted on The Zone on Starr FM Friday when he was asked about the development.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Some residents of Adenta went on rampage Thursday by burning car tyres on the highway<\/p>\n

to register their protest over the rampant killing of people on the highway due to lack of footbridges.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Pressure group, OccupyGhana, has condemned government for not being<\/p>\n

proactive in dealing with the carnage.<\/p>\n

OccupyGhana is calling on government to \u201cimmediately\u201d construct rumble strips \u201con the long<\/p>\n

stretch of road beginning from the University of Ghana to the Pantang end of the highway to<\/p>\n

reduce the unnecessary speeding of drivers.\u201d<\/p>\n

It also added: \u201cGovernment should replace all faulty traffic lights that have been faulty with <\/em><\/p>\n

modern and solar powered controlled traffic lights. Further to this, extra traffic lights with <\/em><\/p>\n

toucan crossing system must be fixed to allow free flow of traffic.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
