{"id":57681,"date":"2018-12-13T09:30:22","date_gmt":"2018-12-13T09:30:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/gh\/?p=57681"},"modified":"2018-12-12T19:54:45","modified_gmt":"2018-12-12T19:54:45","slug":"africa-needs-drastic-measures-to-survive-sarkodie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/africa-needs-drastic-measures-to-survive-sarkodie\/","title":{"rendered":"Africa Needs Drastic Measures To Survive \u2013 Sarkodie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>International awards-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie has shared his<\/p>\n<p>views on the current state of the African economy.<\/p>\n<p>For the past 15 hours, he has been venting<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Highest&#8217; album maker through a series of tweets has shared his<\/p>\n<p>displeasure at how African leaders have failed their people.<\/p>\n<p>In one of his posts, he suggested that what could possibly be the solution to<\/p>\n<p>Africa\u2019s problems is dictatorship.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201c<em>What we need at this point might seem like dictatorship and will feel uncomfortable since we have enjoyed temporal [sic] freedom for a minute but we need drastic measures to survive,\u201d<\/em> he tweeted.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is evident that &#8216;Gbooza&#8217; hitmaker is worried about Ghanaians reposing their<\/p>\n<p>hope in foreigners, especially those that led them into colonialism in the past.<\/p>\n<p>ALSO CHECK:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/sarkodie-receives-gifts-from-medikal-and-old-rock\/\">https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/sarkodie-receives-gifts-from-medikal-and-old-rock\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In another tweet, he wrote:<em> \u201cWe can\u2019t be taking orders from the oppressor\u2026 it will never be in our favor.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Making more allusions to the penchant to defer to powers from foreign lands, he tweeted:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cLemme predict what\u2019s gonna happen: they will come in with money to buy our rights again and build their labels here \u2026 sign 90% of us and control the revenue\u2026 And our survival instincts might not help with the best decisions.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He further noted that he was looking forward to detoxing the younger<\/p>\n<p>generation of ill intentions and rather empower the next generation.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cAt this point , to make a change , let\u2019s forget about the older generation, even our generation and impact the next,\u201d<\/em> he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He cited the aggression by the younger generation of musicians in breaking boundaries as an spirit worthy of emulation.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cLet me use music as an example: African music has been in existence for a long time but why is the world paying attention now??? Because at this point we took things into our hands, United and invaded\u2026 wasn\u2019t an individual,\u201d<\/em> he stated.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThose feelings are coming back again as always \u2026 My dream is for Africa to realize our power and care for our people \u2026 We need to take our pride back,\u201d<\/em> he said in another post.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile,Sarkodie has been very opinionated on issues of governance and leadership.<\/p>\n<p>In the past he has done songs about pertinent issues plaguing society, he has<\/p>\n<p>taken leaders on for their mistakes and given hope to the youth in similar compositions.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently out with a cypher \u2018Biibiba\u2019 which features 10 up and coming<\/p>\n<p>rappers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International awards-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie has shared his views on the current state of the African economy.
