Moreover, this was for their part in a series of frauds.<\/p>\n<p>The fraudsters created make-believe companies. They did this to apply for credit from well-known businesses, including American Express and Barclaycard.<\/p>\n<p>Luxury items purchased included over \u00a3126,000 worth of mobile phones and tablet devices. Also, Cartier and Rolex watches and items from Burberry.<\/p>\n<p>The City of London Police\u2019s Fraud Squad investigated the case following an initial report made to them by American Express.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining three, who have been found guilty, will be sentenced in the New Year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 13 December 2018, Southwark Crown Court sentenced three Ghanaian men.
