{"id":58984,"date":"2019-01-17T08:35:16","date_gmt":"2019-01-17T08:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/gh\/?p=58984"},"modified":"2019-01-16T21:21:13","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T21:21:13","slug":"ghanas-keteke-nominated-along-with-films-from-15-african-countries-for-2019-fespaco-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/ghanas-keteke-nominated-along-with-films-from-15-african-countries-for-2019-fespaco-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana&#8217;s &#8216;Keteke&#8217; Nominated Along With Films From 15 African Countries For 2019 FESPACO Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Award-winning Ghanaian movie, \u2018Keteke\u2019 continues to put Ghana on the map after sweeping several awards, both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n<p>The short film, which is a Peter Sedufia production has once again bag a nomination for the category of\u00a0 Yennenga Gold Standard of the 2019 Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO).<\/p>\n<p>The organizing committee of the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) revealed on January 15, 2019, at the international press conference in Paris, France, the list of feature-length feature films selected for the 26th edition.<\/p>\n<p>The selection involves a total of 20 films from 16 countries: Mali, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Tanzania, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Mozambique, Morocco, Sudan, Rwanda, South Africa, Algeria, and Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/musiga-grand-ball-set-for-march-29\/\">https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/gh\/musiga-grand-ball-set-for-march-29\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Burkina Faso however has the highest number of films selected (three), followed by South\u00a0 Africa and Tunisia, each of which has two representatives as per reports spotted on Ghanaweb.com.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s selection is full of powerful and entertaining films that together celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of cultures and stories from all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Sedufia, in a chat with Ghanaweb expressed his gratitude to the organizers for this nomination.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;I am truly humbled by the news and I thank the team for this recognition.<\/em> It&#8217;s a prestige to see your works being acknowledged globally,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Synopsis of Keteke<\/h3>\n<p>Keteke tells a story focused on the 1980s rail service system in Ghana\u00a0and the train is the only means of transport from the outskirts. A couple &#8211; BOI (Adjetey Anang) and ATSWEI (Lydia Forson) living in Puna is bent on delivering their first baby in Akete but misses their first train. A wrong decision finds them in the middle of nowhere.
