Veteran Highlife artiste Akosua Agyapong has stated she blames artistes managers for the revealing clothes of some female acts in the country wear.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Success Story on Hitz FM, Akosua Agyapong said the managers in their bid to<\/p>\n

make their artist well known, famous and sexy chooses to encourage them to dress in scanty clothing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I ask some of these artistes why they dress the way they do, they say \u2018our managers said we should dress that way so that we will look good and sexy,\u201d<\/em> she told Mercury Quaye.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Akosua Agyapong explained when celebs get used to dressing in little clothes, they become popular alright but in a negative way;<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThe funny thing is those dresses do not make the popularity last.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI have been doing music for 30 years and I did not succumb to any of those but I still have some of the young ones as my fans,\u201d<\/em> she added.<\/p>\n

She further revealed, \u201cfor my first performance at Art Center, the leader of the group that were going to back me up had a bottle of some substance and poured it for them to drink.<\/em> When it got to my turn, I asked what it was, I was told it will keep the edge off and give me the confidence to perform.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you start with, if God is not by your side, is what you\u2019ll end with, so I refused the drink.<\/em> If I had taken that drink, I might have gotten addicted to it and take it to perform every time,\u201d she added.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The celebrated Highlife musician said when she began her career, she made a promise to dress<\/p>\n

well and respect herself \u201cbecause if you don\u2019t respect yourself, no one will respect you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akosua Agyapong said the artiste should focus more on creating works that will live on even after they are gone.<\/p>\n

Many celebs including the late Ebony, Sister Afia, Wendy Shay, Eno Barony, Moesha Budong,<\/p>\n

Efia Odo and Princess Shyngle have all been criticised at one point for the way they dress.<\/p>\n

Social media has gone hard in bashing these ladies for not setting a good example for the young ones that look up to.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, most of the songs that people create die after three to four months. Even though the person is still living, the song will just go off air. You should do things that will live long so that when you are gone, we\u2019ll still remember you for it,\u201d<\/em> she explained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She also added many people will see these artistes and talk anyhow about them which will adversely affect their future.<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of my four girls, can point to my past and tell me I dressed that anyhow so they\u2019re doing same,\u201d s<\/em>he stated.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The singer said some parents have complained to her they are having challenges with their<\/p>\n

children because whatever they tell the kids, they refer them to the things they did in the past.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m begging the musicians, the actors and actresses, don\u2019t let anybody tell you <\/em>what to do to become famous or liked.<\/em> Look in the mirror and tell yourself you are beautiful, advise and encourage yourself because nobody out there will encourage you,\u201d she added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
