Popular Kumawood actor Bill Asamoah has been named as one of the many ambassadors for<\/p>\n

tourism in Ghana.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Catherine Afeku made this revelation in a post on<\/p>\n

Facebook.<\/p>\n

The minister in her post revealed the actor was unanimously nominated by members of<\/p>\n

Kumawood [the local movie industry] after months of deliberation.<\/p>\n

The actor however took his appointment letter as Tourism Ambassador on Wednesday, February 6.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Part of Madam Afeku’s post reads, \u201cSpeaking with Bill, he revealed he was going to <\/em><\/p>\n

ensure the promotion of Ghana to the world through quality movies, and enhance <\/em><\/p>\n

the business aspect of film making to attract investors.<\/em>\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Meanwhile, Bill Asamoah is also the President for the Ashanti Regional Chapter of the Ghana Actors Guild.<\/p>\n

The actor is popular for his roles in Kumawood movies like Sundiata, Kae (Remember) and<\/p>\n

The Mighty One.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, Mr. Asamoah also intends to<\/h3>\n

promoteGovernment policies and agenda through Ghanaian films.<\/h3>\n

In 2017, the Ghana Tourism Authority under the auspices of the Tourism Ministry unveiled 30\u00a0ambassadors.<\/p>\n

These were however celebs from different aspects of the creative industry to spearhead the<\/p>\n

\u201cSee Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, Feel Ghana\u201d campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of these ambassadors included, SP Kofi Sarpong, Fancy Gadam, D-Black, Reggie and<\/p>\n

Bollie, Nana Ampadu, Agya Koo, Okyeame Kwame, Sena Degadu and Lucky Mensah.<\/p>\n

Madam Afeku, said the aim of the Tourism Ambassador programme, was to partner influential<\/p>\n

persons to help drive tourism growth in and outside the country.<\/p>\n

However, in her Facebook post, she assured Bill Asamoah, the Nana Addo-led government has<\/p>\n

not\u00a0neglected the people of Kumasi in terms of Tourism, Arts and Culture development.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are trying our very best to make the industry attractive for both local and foreign investors to want to invest,\u201d<\/em> she added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“Yesterday, Bill Asamoah was at my office to pick up his appointment letter as a Tourism Ambassador for Ghana.<\/em><\/p>\n

This appointment was made after KUMAWOOD unanimously nominated him to be <\/em><\/p>\n

appointed as an ambassador after many months of deliberation.<\/em><\/p>\n

Speaking with Bill, he revealed he was going to ensure the promotion of Ghana to <\/em><\/p>\n

the world through quality movies, and enhance the business aspect of film making <\/em><\/p>\n

to attract investors. He also intend to promote Government policies and agenda through Ghanaian films.<\/em><\/p>\n

I also used the opportunity to inform him that, the Nana Addo led government has<\/em><\/p>\n

not neglected the people of Kumasi in terms of Tourism, Arts and Culture <\/em>development as some media reports suggest, but instead we are trying our very<\/em> best to make the industry attractive for both local and foreign investors to want to invest.<\/em><\/p>\n
