Highlife artiste, Kwaisey Pee has stated categorically that no Ghanaian is fit to be called a celebrity.<\/p>\n

According to him, comparing the social and financial status of celebrities living in the Western World to the \u2018so-called\u2019 Ghanaian celebrities, he is yet to see one in Ghana.<\/p>\n

When told A-list acts such as Daddy Lumba, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy among others can be called celebrities, Kwaisey Pee on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM said:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t have celebrities in Ghana. I have lived in the Western world and when we talk about celebrities we know. It\u2019s the other way round here. I don\u2019t consider myself as one. I wanna get to where they will call you that. It\u2019s self-professed in Ghana. There is no celebrity in Ghana. They don\u2019t have what it takes.\u201d<\/em> he told host KMJ.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to Kwaisey Pee, only person, Menzgold\u2019s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nana Appiah Mensah, nearly became a celebrity because \u201che had a private jet and all the luxurious cars\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The \u201cMehia Odo\u201d hitmaker also said some pastors are close to attaining the celebrity status<\/p>\n

because \u201cthey have the bodyguards, mansions and luxurious properties.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe artistes are only trying [to catch up the celebrity status],\u201d<\/em> Kwaisey Pee stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
