KANU party leader Gideon Moi has issued a stern demand for government intervention following a “deeply disturbing” surge in child disappearances and abuse across Kenya.

In a formal statement released on Friday, May 15, the former Baringo senator characterized the escalating cases of violence, mistreatment, and unexplained deaths as a burgeoning national crisis rather than a series of isolated events.

• Constitutional Mandate: Moi urged the government to immediately invoke Article 53 (1) of the Constitution, which guarantees every child the right to be protected from abuse, neglect, and all forms of violence.

• Safety Concerns: He highlighted a worrying trend where children are falling victim to cruelty in environments—such as homes and schools—where they should theoretically be most secure.
