Guardian Angel Explains Why Building A Church Doesn’t Make Him A Pastor

Award-winning gospel artist Guardian Angel (Peter Omwaka) is clearing the air regarding his recent philanthropic efforts. Despite his heavy involvement in constructing a new place of worship, the singer insists that a transition into pastoral ministry is not in the cards.

In a candid Instagram video shared on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the artist addressed the growing public speculation about his future in the church.

Guardian Angel was quick to distinguish between personal devotion and a professional calling. He acknowledged that while the role of a pastor is noble, it demands a level of patience he hasn’t yet mastered.

“Being a pastor isn’t a bad thing, but I’m not there yet. I don’t have that kind of patience. Maybe God will help me later, but for now, it’s a difficult path,” he admitted.

He emphasized that loving God does not mandate becoming a pastor, urging fans not to confuse his religious zeal with a desire to lead a congregation.

The Construction Project

The rumors gained momentum after the singer announced plans in late 2025 to build a church as a way of giving back. He clarified his motivations for the project:

  • Community Support: He noticed a local church in disrepair and felt a moral obligation to help the worshippers have a better facility.
  • No Membership: Interestingly, he revealed he is not a member of the specific church he is renovating.
  • Exit Plan: He stated clearly that once construction is finished, his involvement ends. “When I finish building, my part is done,” he noted.

A “Season of Blessings”

This initiative follows a post from October 2025 where the singer expressed immense gratitude for a “season of blessings.” At the time, he told followers he was not seeking financial donations for the build, only their prayers.

By funding the project himself, Guardian Angel aims to honor his faith through action rather than a title.
