After Njoki Chege wrote an article asking ‘fat’ women not to delude themselves with the ‘plus-size-is-sexy’ vibe, many women and men were mad at her! Calling her an ignorant cyber-bully among other unprintable names.

And she was not even spared by even her former colleagues such as Ciru Muriuki who gave her quite the telling. But it did not stop there; celebrities like Kendi, Catherine Kamau, Naomi Ng’ang’a, Huddah and Caroline Mutoko also weighing in on the weighty issue. Others like Grace Msalame gave her a hundred percent backing and we thought that that was the end of the debate which lasted a whole week.

But the weighty issue rages on. Citizen TV’s Swaleh Mdoe admits that a woman over 70 Kgs is not his cup of tea. Speaking to Citizen, Swaleh said “I think Njoki is right because any woman who weighs 70 kilograms and above for me is fat – if you’d allow me use that.”
