International Kenyan rugby star found dead

Kenyan international rugby player Bernadette Olesia has died. The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) confirmed in a statement that she passed away on Tuesday morning while receiving treatment in hospital.

Olesia was a key member of the Kenya Lionesses team, having featured for the side at May’s Rugby Africa Women’s Cup in Madagascar. She was also named the MVP of the Kenya vs Zambia match at the tournament.

The KRU expressed their condolences to Olesia’s family, friends, and teammates. They said that more information about her funeral arrangements would be shared in due course.

The Uganda Rugby Federation also mourned Olesia’s death, saying that she was a “true talent” and “a great ambassador for the game of rugby.”

Olesia will be remembered as a talented and dedicated rugby player who made a significant contribution to the sport in Kenya. Her death is a sad loss to the rugby community.
