Irish musician Sinead O’Connor announces conversion to Islam

Singer Sinead O’Connor has announced that she has converted to Islam. She has even changed her name to Shuhada’ Davitt.

In recent days, she has been posting selfies of herslef in hijabs, as well as avideo in which she sang the call to prayer, Azan.

On October 19th, Sinead tweeted: “This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim. This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey. All scripture study leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant.”

In 1992, she ripped a picture of Pope John Paul II as a protest against the Catholic Church.

Sinead has also spoken about her mental health issues.
