It Was a Great Week for These 5 Kenyan Artistes

Some Kenyan artistes have had a great week. We recognize five of them.

5. Camp Mulla – I wouldn’t be shocked if Camp Mulla have lost count of the awards they’ve been nominated for. Congratulations to them for being the only Kenyan artistes nominated at the KORA Awards in a continental category (Best Group). The rest of the Kenyans were nominated in the East African categories.

4. OJ – Tahidi High’s David Mugo became a dad. Say hello to his son, Ethan Mugo.

3. Marya – Even in the regional categories, Kenya did not register many names for the five slots. And she managed to be the only Kenyan nominated for Best Female – East Africa.

2. Just-A-Band – Just a couple of days after releasing their third album, the fans showed them just how much they had been anticipating it. Sorry For The Delay peaked at number 5 on the BandCamp album sales chart.

1. Young Wilson – One day he was a young Kenyan teen who was having trouble with his father. The next: he was signed on to Akon’s Konvict Music.
