Julie Gichuru Making Her Way Back To The Newsroom This Sunday

In March this year, Citizen TV’s Julie Gichuru shocked many of her fans and Citizen TV viewers by and large when she announced on her live news show, Sunday Live, that she would be taking a short break from the newsroom. There even emerged rumours that she was joining K24 since her announcement came at the height of K24’s raid on Citizen’s top talent, sentiments that Julie vehemently dispelled.

Last evening, however, it became apparent that Julie is heading back to the newsroom after the three-month break away from news anchoring. Via her Twitter account, Julie confirmed that she will be back to hosting the Sunday Live news show on Citizen TV.

During her hiatus, Julie hosted the “African Leadership Dialogue” interactive show that highlights insights into the African Continent that airs every Monday on Citizen TV immediately after the 9PM prime news.

Janet Mbugua has been hosting the show since Julie left and now she’s set to hand over to Julie on 14th July (this Sunday) to take up her previous role in the weekdays news bulletin. Meanwhile, Citizen TV has been running promos in preparation for Julie’s return.

Ghafla! wishes her the very best as she makes a comeback.
