Julius Yego Allegedly Offered 1 Billion After Getting Kenya’s First Gold At A Field Event

Kenya’s prowess on the track and in marathons is unparalleled; something that was demonstrated by the sheer number of medals Kenyan athletes took home during the 15th edition of the IAAF World Championships.

While we are pros when it comes to running, field events were not really our forte .Well .that was up until Julius Yego won Kenya’s fifth gold medal at the competition with an impressive 92.72-metres throw in the men’s javelin final. Giving Kenya its first gold in a field event.

This feat did not go unnoticed and Yego was reportedly offered 1 Billion Kshs to ditch Kenya and jump ship to Qatar. This is according to Bandao Broadcasting Media Corporation. Apparently Yego declined the handsome offer by the country that has had a reputation of poaching the best from other countries.
