Just who is Tony Ogunda? Most people know him as “Tuju’s co-husband”. He is the person who has been fingered as the cause for the marital woes Hon. Raphael Tuju faced. And by all means, you have heard that he died under mysterious circamstances yesterday in Raphael Tuju’s Upperhill house aye?

But what do you really know about the man? And I mean other than the fact that he was cited as the main cause for Tuju filing for a divorce?

Well, first off, the man was a former GSU officer who was assigned to Raphael Tuju’s detail back in the day. Simply put, the deceased was Raphael Tuju’s bodyguard. After a while the latter felt that the former was having an affair with his wife, one Ruth Akinyi Wanjare and he felt that the situation was untenable ergo filed for divorce.

The deceased lawyer, Mr. Ombeta has represented him since 2009 and he spoke to Nation Media in an interview that shed more light on the man. Apparently, in the run up to his death, Tony Ogunda had become a drunk. He was imbibing the nectar of the gods a little to heavily in response to death threats he had received in regards to his illicit relationship with Tuju’s wife.

But what most do not know is that Tony Ogunda was a father of two whom he was reportedly supporting fully and he ensured that they never lacked. From school fees to rent. He catered to their needs.

Tony ogunda was described as an outgoing and amiable fellow. and it is reported that he and his bereaved lover (Tuju’s wife) were acquainted with each other back in 2008. The deceased apparently had a fraud case against him in the Makadara Law Courts.

A mysterious syringe was reportedly found next to the body of the deceased and investigations are still ongoing as there were no external signs of foul play such as bruise marks and ligature marks.
