Yet another matatu crew has been involved in the death of an innocent Kenyan. The death of 21 year-old-Dennis Masila in the hands of Snowball Sacco matatu crew comes barely two months after Joseph Kiarie Ng’ethe was beaten to death by matatu touts.
Dennis Masila crushed to death along Mbagathi Way when he was thrown out of a moving matatu. The 21-year-old was commuting to Highrise at the time of the accident.
Driver and tout flee
The Snowball Sacco matatu sped off after the accident. Angry youth chased after the matatu but by the time they caught up with it the driver and tout had already fled.
“Eye witnesses said my brother was thrown out of the matatu by the conductor and on falling the minibus went on to crush him to death. By the time I arrived, the minibus had fled but some youths who had pursued it reported to the police near the Railways roundabout,” Dennis Masila’s elder brother Justus Wambua narrated.
