“Kaveve Kazoze” Star Ngesh Breaks Silence on Her Disappearance
When asked why Spider Clan disbanded shortly after their brief rise to fame, Ngesh wa Vasha revealed that despite their viral hit and overwhelming fan support, the group was not earning any income from YouTube—making it unsustainable to continue producing music.
“As long as we weren’t making money from our YouTube, we couldn’t keep releasing videos or making music,” she said. “Personally, I didn’t want to stay in the limelight under those circumstances. I refused.”
Ngesh, known for her standout verse in “Cash crop za Nyandarua ni waru”—a catchy line that became widely popular—shared that her fellow group members wanted to maintain their online relevance by reinventing themselves. However, she resisted the idea.
She emphasized her refusal to live a deceptive life on social media just to keep up appearances, saying she still faces real-life struggles.
“They wanted us to do something, but I wasn’t willing. Why should I stay in the spotlight when I’m broke? Why should I lie to people that I’m okay when I’m suffering? I can’t do that,” she stated firmly.
Her honesty drew mixed reactions—some expressed sympathy, while others wondered how they could support her comeback once she regains stability.
Content creator 2Mbili, who recently led a successful fundraiser for Khalif Kairo’s release from remand, asked fans if they would be willing to contribute similarly to help Ngesh revive her career.
It’s worth noting that at the height of their fame, Spider Clan met with public figures like Senator Karen Nyamu and businessman Mike Sonko, who pledged support for the young artists. However, those promises ultimately fell through.
