Kwambox Reaffirms Her Fluid Sexuality: “It Has Never Been a Secret”
Former Kiss 100 presenter and celebrated Kenyan media personality Sheila Kwamboka, popularly known as Kwambox, has once again addressed questions surrounding her sexual orientation, reaffirming that her identity as fluid is neither new nor hidden.
In a candid conversation on the Iko Nini podcast hosted by Mwafreeka, Kwambox opened up about her sexuality, noting that while her long-time followers are well aware of her past statements, younger audiences may be encountering this part of her identity for the first time.
Understanding Fluid Sexuality
Fluid sexuality refers to a sexual orientation that can change over time. Unlike fixed identities such as heterosexual or homosexual, individuals who identify as sexually fluid may find their attractions shifting in terms of gender, intensity, or emotional connection.
For example, someone might identify as mostly heterosexual for years, then later experience attraction to someone of the same gender—and vice versa. It acknowledges that sexuality, for some people, isn’t static.
“I Was Very Clear—I’m Fluid”
Kwambox emphasized that her fluidity is not a recent discovery. “Maybe Gen Zs are the ones who probably don’t know me. I say this—I’m in my third phase of fans,” she explained, reflecting on her media journey dating back to 2007 with K24, her appearance on Big Brother Africa in 2010, and her radio stint at Homeboyz in 2016.
Referencing her longtime supporters, she added, “So there are people who started following me from Kapow, from Big Brother—the OGs know the answer to this question.”
Kwambox noted that despite being open about her sexuality for years, it’s something some people still try to weaponize. “I was very clear that I’m fluid. It’s never been a secret. I think there’s many times I’ve talked about this. But I feel like of late, people try to use it against me—and if I’m being honest, that’s none of my business. I am who I am.”
Owning Her Truth
Kwambox’s message is a reminder of how public figures are often forced to repeatedly explain aspects of their identity—especially in an ever-evolving social media landscape where new audiences might not know their full story.
Unbothered by judgment, she continues to stand firmly in her truth: fluid, open, and unapologetically herself.
