Planned Power Interruptions Set for Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Across Multiple Counties

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity maintenance for Wednesday, July 23, 2025, affecting several regions across the country. The planned outages, which are part of routine network upgrades and maintenance works, will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in most areas, though some locations will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Nairobi Region

• Mbagathi Way: Areas to be affected include Madaraka Garages, Geomap, Kenyatta Hospital Flats, Mbagathi Way, Ngumo, Kibera Laini Saba, Undugu, Nyayo Highrise, Nairobi West Prison, Sunshine School, Montezuma/Umash Funeral Homes, City Mortuary, Riara University, KMTC, and surrounding customers.

• Parts of Waiyaki Way: Uthiru Shopping Centre, Kapenguria Road, Kabete Vet Lab, Mugi Road, Uthiru Muthua, Uthiru Girls, Mukiri Road, Muchene Road, Co-operation area, Uthiru 87, Shell Uthiru, Muhuri Road, part of Kinoo and nearby areas.

Kiambu County

• Kikuyu Town and Magana Area: Power will be interrupted in Kikuyu Town, Kidfarmacco, Magana Complex, Muthiga, Gitaru, Universal Corporation, Rungiri, and adjacent customers.

North Rift Region

• Uasin Gishu County: The areas of Mwanzo, Kidiwa, Majengo, Mukoya Quarry, and neighboring locations will experience power outages.

South Nyanza Region

• Migori County: Scheduled maintenance will affect Mikei, Radienya, Wiga, Kakula, Karangi, and surrounding customers.

Mt. Kenya Region

• Nyeri County:

  • Muruguru and Kiamuiru: Including Muruguru Secondary and Market, Kiamuiru School and Dispensary, Muruguru SDA, Kigera, Satima Mills, Ngibuini, Githiru, Marva Market, Rulcandu, FK Resort, and nearby areas.

  • Munyu and Kimahuri: Parts of Munyu, Snow View Academy, Warazo Jet, Kimahuri Dispensary and Market, Ndathi, Kabaru, Mbau Sawmills, Mountain Lodge, and surrounding areas.

• Meru County: Power will be off in Muruguma, Naari, Gatimene, Gathuine, Mchogomone, Kirigo, Rukuru, Figure, Gatobora, Nyayo Tea Zones, Old Minas, Bible Baptist, Kinoru (partially), Office of the Women Rep, Nkuriga Booster, BBM Academy, St. Dominic Rukuru, Kigure Market, and adjacent customers.

Eastern Region

• Kitui County: Power will be unavailable in Katse Market, Ciampiu Market, Katse, Kimangao, Mbangwani, Muvinge, Mikwa, and nearby areas.

Coast Region

• Mombasa County:

  • Mhindani: Areas including CSL, Caribu & Dola Flour Millers, S. Harvest, Mikindani Estate, and nearby customers.

• Kwale County: Kombani and Ng’ombeni areas will be affected, including Coast Calcium, KSG Matuga, Kombani Secondary, Matuga, Voroni, Bethany, Ng’ombeni Primary and Secondary Schools, Waa Boys and Girls Secondary Schools, and neighboring areas.

Kenya Power advises all affected customers to treat all electrical installations as live during the outage period and to take necessary precautions. The maintenance is expected to enhance service reliability and efficiency once completed.
