TikToker, Anne Kawira vows to undergo drastic body modification ahead of entry into politics

Anne Kawira has revealed plans to remove some of her tattoos as she prepares to contest for the Athiru Gaiti Ward MCA seat in 2027.

In a post shared on TikTok on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Kawira asked her followers to recommend trusted tattoo removal specialists, signalling the beginning of a personal rebrand as she eyes leadership.

She noted that although she had previously insisted she would not change her appearance for politics, she has since reconsidered after receiving strong encouragement and positive feedback from residents regarding her manifesto.

“Tag for me any tattoo remover. It’s time, MCA Athiru Gaiti Ward 2027,” she wrote, reaffirming her ambitions while seeking help in finding the right professionals.

Backing Linturi’s Gubernatorial Bid

Her announcement comes just days after she publicly declared support for former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi in his bid for the Meru gubernatorial seat.

Kawira visited Linturi at his Meru home on March 31, 2026, where she pledged full support from herself and her followers, promising to rally voters behind him.

“Mithika, you are our incoming governor, and we will do everything possible to make sure you win that seat. We will support you fully,” she said during the meeting.

She added that her confidence in Linturi stems from what she described as the responsiveness of leaders within the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), noting that they listen to citizens’ concerns.

Call for Youth Mobilisation

Kawira, who is also known to be close friends with Pastor Kanyari, further revealed that many people in her community support the DCP and are open to joining the party.

She urged Kenyans, particularly young voters, to prepare for the 2027 General Election by acquiring their voting cards and uniting around a common goal.

According to her, collective action—especially among Gen Z voters—will be key in shaping the country’s political direction, including efforts to ensure that William Ruto serves only one term.

Appeal to Meru Residents

Kawira also made a direct appeal to residents of Meru County, encouraging them to rally behind Linturi in his quest to lead the county.

“I am appealing to my fellow Meru residents to support Mithika Linturi as he seeks to become the governor of Meru County,” she said.

Her latest moves signal a growing shift from social media influence to active political engagement, as she positions herself for a potential leadership role in 2027.
