Pastor Kanyari’s 2027 Kasarni MP seat strategy revealed

Victor Kanyari has formally launched his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Elections, declaring his intention to vie for the Kasarani Member of Parliament seat.

The preacher, popularly known as Prophet Kanyari, made the announcement during a church service on April 12, 2026, signaling a shift from ministry into active politics.

Taking the campaign to the ground

Since declaring his bid, Kanyari has begun engaging directly with residents across Kasarani, adopting a grassroots approach to his campaign. He has been visiting different wards, interacting with locals, and positioning himself as a leader who understands the realities on the ground.

According to him, leadership requires physical presence and direct engagement with the people.

“No shortcuts to leadership — lazima uvae viatu, uingie ground, usalimie watu na usikie shida zao live!” he said while addressing residents.

Focus on local businesses

A key part of his outreach has involved engaging small-scale traders, particularly in areas like Mwiki. During these visits, Kanyari has been seen speaking with business owners, listening to their challenges, and promising change within the constituency.

He has framed these interactions as part of a broader mission to improve livelihoods and address economic concerns at the grassroots level.

Mixing charity with politics

In addition to his political messaging, Kanyari has incorporated acts of service into his campaign. He has been spotted distributing items such as umbrellas to residents, presenting them as support for everyday needs.

This approach blends his identity as a religious leader with his political ambitions, as he continues to build rapport within the community.

A competitive race ahead

Kasarani remains one of Nairobi’s most populous and politically competitive constituencies. The seat is currently held by Ronald Karauri, who was elected as an independent candidate in 2022.

Kanyari’s entry into the race adds a new dynamic to the contest, especially given his public profile and following.

From MCA ambitions to MP bid

Interestingly, Kanyari had initially indicated interest in contesting for the Njiru Ward MCA seat before shifting his focus to the parliamentary position.

With early groundwork already underway, his campaign signals an intent to build momentum well ahead of the 2027 elections.
