Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Interruptions in Several Regions on May 28, 2026

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, and Nyeri counties on Thursday, May 28, 2026, to allow for maintenance works on the power network.

Nairobi Region

Part of Zimmerman

Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

Areas set to be affected include Car Wash Zimmerman, Seventh Day Adventist Church, and nearby customers.

Part of Gumba

Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

The outage will affect Gumba Estate, Mbinda, and surrounding areas.

Part of Ngong Road

Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

Areas expected to experience interruptions include parts of Ngong Road, Jockey Club, War Memorial Cemetery, sections of Talanta Stadium, Dagoretti Corner, the Meteorological Department, Nairobi City County staff houses, The Junction Mall, Bamboo Lane, Riara Road, Naivasha Road, Kawangware Deliverance Church, Braeburn School, Rusinga School, Gitanga Road, Kawangware Congo, Kawangware Coast, Wanyee Road, Kinyanjui Road, Nyakinywa Road, Naivasha Road Flats, Melchizedek Hospital, Riara Close, Kingara Road, Kingara Close, and adjacent customers.

Part of Naivasha Road

Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

The affected locations include sections of Ngong Road, Racecourse, Ngando near Mama Wahu, Chogi Road, Talanta area, War Memorial Cemetery, City Council residential houses, Dagoretti Corner, Karandini Road, Riara Road, Bamboo Lane, Naivasha Road Shell, Deliverance Church Kawangware Congo, Braeburn School, Rusinga School, Kawangware 48, St. Francis Catholic Church Kawangware Coast, Gitanga Road, Co-op Bank, Wanyee Road, Githembe, Mutidwa, Kinyanjui Road, Nyakinyua Road, Ngotho Road, Riruta Satellite Shopping Centre, Riruta Police Station, Riruta Primary School, Kabiria Road, Lepic School, and nearby customers.

North Rift Region

Parts of Uasin Gishu County – Bayete, Kerita, Burnt Forest

Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

Areas to be affected include Bayete, Kerita, Kitingia, Cherus, Ndungulu, Kaptega, Kapsundei, Sengalo, Chereber, Kapchorwa, Ndanai, Ngarua, Kondoo, Kapkeno, Languse, Cheboror, and adjacent customers.

Parts of Nandi County – Arwos

Time: 10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.

The outage will affect Cheribisi, Arwos Centre, St. Roberts Arwos, and surrounding areas.

Mt Kenya Region

Parts of Nyeri County – Mweru, Ngamwa, Karaba

Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

Areas expected to experience power interruptions include Mweru Coffee Factory, Kinuri, Ngamwa, Karaba Dispensary, Mahuri Farm, Mutonga, Kabuta Market, Kigetuini, Kimathi, Rutune Primary School, Mitundu, Kangure, Kambwe, Kaini, Gumba Dispensary, Kariara Mawe, Geitwa, Kibuu, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power advised affected customers to plan accordingly during the maintenance period.
