Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Interruptions in Several Regions on May 29, 2026

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions affecting parts of Nairobi and Kisii counties on Friday, May 29, 2026, as the utility company carries out planned maintenance works on the power network.

In Nairobi Region, the outage will affect parts of Donholm and Savannah Road from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Areas expected to experience the interruption include Total Energies Donholm, Family Bank, Equity Bank, Co-op Bank Donholm, Tigoni, Mate Plaza, Mima Centre, New and Old Donholm, Equity Afya Hospital, Mara Savannah, Savannah, Greenfields, Sunrise, Donholm Phases 5 and 8, Harambee Sacco Estates, Oyster Village, and nearby customers.

In South Nyanza Region, parts of Kisii County will also be affected during the same hours.

The first outage area covers Gesonso and Ombata Estate, including Gesonso Market and Police Station, Ombata Estate, Nyakungu Primary School, and surrounding customers.

Another scheduled interruption will affect Etago, Nyamaiya, and Moticho areas. Locations set to experience the blackout include Kenyenya Primary School, Nyangweta SDA Secondary School, Etago Market, Nyansembe, Nyakeyo, Suguta, Moticho, Engou, Nyabera, Nyamaiya, Ekona, Mogenda, Ochodororo, Maroon, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power stated that the planned maintenance is aimed at improving reliability and stability of electricity supply in the affected regions.
